Eagle Scout Projects Something new has occured at Oakdale. We had experienced two Eagle Scout Projects recently in November. The first by Mr. Tavis McFadyen and Troop #13 who spruced up the entrance to Oakdale. They created two new planting beds at the entrance, planted two new oaks just inside the gates, planted daffodil bulbs at the flagpole and sodded the front yard of the office. They also cleared unwanted vegetative debris along the 15th Street corridor. The second by Mr. Joey Keiner and Troop #234 installed 87 new sections signs. The signs were placed in the old part of the cemetery as well as the new section known as the Live Oak section. We are most grateful for all of these new improvements. Combined, they logged over 300 man hours to complete these projects. We thank those who supported these projects - Super Sod for donating the sod and The Friends of Oakdale Cemetery for the plant material and the section signs. Now we have a beautiful entrance along with signs that will help families and visitors find the sections more easily. |
